Compagnie Flak is a contemporary dance company based in Montreal Canada, under the direction of Venezuelan born choreographer José Navas. Creator of more than 30 pieces, his work can be recognized by his audacity and the usualness of the characters of his creations. Today, the words that best describe his work are: abstraction, sobriety, intensity and depth.

Fundraising Campaign 2009

The Salle Pierre-Mercure at the Centre Pierre-Peladeau was full for the second José Navas/Compagnie Flak fundraiser, which was held on November 25, 2009. José opened the show with his solo Villanelle before turning the stage over to his eight dancers and the music of Erik Satie for his piece entitled S. These two Montreal premieres, a part of the Danse Danse series, were followed by a private reception and a silent auction.

On this occasion, we raised funds for the creation of Diptyque, José’s next group creation for Compagnie Flak.  Thanks to our generous supporters, Diptyque will be created under the best conditions possible.

Once again, we extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone, volunteers and donors, who believe in us, the challenge of supporting contemporary dance and who help us to pursue our dreams and achieve our ambitions.
